Heating

&

Lighting

Being a diurnal species Pilbara rock monitors require high basking temperatures and high UVB exposure, that's why we maintain basking temperatures between 120℉ to 140℉, complemented by ambient temperatures of 80℉ to 85℉. To ensure optimal health, we recommend high-quality UVB lighting using Arcadia's Dragon 14% UVB High Output T-5 bulbs. This allows them to synthesize calcium properly and prevents metabolic bone disease (MBD).  Provide a natural light cycle for your monitor of 12 hours of light followed by 12 hours of darkness.   With these lighting settings your Pilbara rock monitor should thrive for years to come.

Our feeding routines include a selection of crickets, dubia roaches, grasshoppers, and silkworms, ensuring that our monitors receive the essential nutrients they need to thrive. Humidity

Requirements

Pilbara rock monitors should have varying humidity levels throughout their enclosure. The goal is to replicate the same micro climates that these animals have access to in the wild. A range from 50% - 70% humidity should be available to them throughout their enclosure. This is achievable by providing a humid hide or area within the enclosure where the humidity can be slightly higher to allow the monitor to regulate its hydration as needed. These humidity levels can be maintained by misting the enclosure regularly, using a deep substrate layer, or providing a good sized water bowl.

Habitat
&
Enrichment

Pilbara rock monitors are very active and require ample space to explore and hunt. We recommend that you offer your Pilbara rock monitor an enclosure that measures 4'L x 2'W x 4'H. The addition of a 3D background with lots of ledges and branches will help your monitor feel right at home. Adding live plants and leaf litter will give your Pilbara rock monitor more opportunity to forage and explore.

Life Span

Pilbara rock monitors can thrive for 10-15 years with the right care and husbandry. Providing a suitable habitat and balanced diet are essential for longevity. By maintaining optimal conditions, you can ensure a happy and healthy life for your Pilbara rock monitor.
